The City of Vincent Library and Community Centre will reopen and Beatty Park Leisure Centre will partially reopen tomorrow following the end of the five-day COVID-19 lock down.

Up to 150 people at a time will be allowed in each facility and the 4sqm rule will be in place during the post-lock down transition period.

The Beatty Park outdoor pool and gym will open during the transition period, but fitness classes will not be going ahead due to State Government restrictions.

The transition period - which will allow for the full 14-day incubation period for COVID-19 to run its course -  starts at 6pm tonight and will end at 12.01am on 14 February.

Beatty Park memberships will remain suspended until 14 February.

  • Leederville Skate Park and all playgrounds across Vincent will reopen to the public at 6pm tonight.
  • Community sports can restart with a maximum of 150 participants and spectators.
  • Loftus Recreation Centre will also reopen tonight under the 4sqm and 150-person capacity rules, but all sports competitions will be postponed until 15 February.
  • Community hall and park bookings are available, with park bookings capped at 20 people and hall bookings limited by the 4sqm rule.
  • Kerbside bin collections are an essential service and will continue as normal during the transition period.
  • Face masks will still be mandatory in all public places and workplaces, except during vigorous outdoor exercise.

Businesses to reopen

All businesses except nightclubs can open their doors tonight under the capacity rules.

It is essential for businesses to keep a mandatory visitor register and promote the use of the SafeWA app.

The City’s environmental health officers are available to provide advice to local businesses on the transitional measures.
