The State Government has announced further measures to respond to rising COVID-19 case numbers.
From Thursday 3 March, there will be new rules for public events and capacity limits for certain venues.
For our community, there are also expanded mask requirements for older primary school aged children and new restrictions for hospitality venues, weddings and private gatherings.
Public events will be capped at 500 people, a 2 square meter rule in place and masks must be worn. This may impact some City sponsored events.
There may be capacity limits for Beatty Park Leisure Centre in addition to the 2 square meter restrictions announced last week. We will be providing an update on this when we receive more information from the State Government.
These measures are in addition to the existing indoor mask wearing, proof of vaccination and contact registration requirements.
“We are about to go through a challenging time, remember that the City of Vincent is still here for you. Our library, community centre and Beatty Park are still open and closely following the State Government directives to keep everyone safe,” Mayor Emma Cole said.
“Times are also tough for our local businesses, please support them however you can. Our wellbeing and sense of connection has never been more important, please look out for each other and stay safe.”
