Gym workouts and community programs return

The Beatty Park gym will re-open tomorrow and programs will resume at the City of Vincent Library and Community Centre as COVID-19 restrictions are eased across Perth.

State Government restrictions will significantly ease at midnight tonight, but some transitional rules will remain in place until 12.01am on Saturday 8 May.

This includes a requirement for masks to be worn indoors – including during workouts.

The Beatty Park Leisure Centre gym will re-open tomorrow and fitness classes will resume with slight modifications to keep patrons comfortable behind their masks.

The outdoor pools return to pre-lockdown limits, with the indoor pool still closed for renovations.

The 20-person capacity limits at the Community Centre and Library will be lifted and all programs will go ahead. Advance bookings are required for library events.

The City’s Asset Management and Sustainability Strategy pop-up engagement event will go ahead at Banks Reserve on Saturday. Anyone who attends should be mindful of physical distancing requirements.

Additional dates for Asset Management and Sustainability Strategy pop-ups are listed at imagine.vincent.wa.gov.au

“This next transitional phase brings us another step closer to returning to pre-lockdown life and that is great news for our community and for our local businesses,” said Mayor Emma Cole.

“Please remember to wear your mask indoors over the next week, whether you’re working out at the Beatty Park gym or enjoying Baby Rhyme Time at the library.

“And of course don’t forget to wash your hands and use the SafeWA app whenever you’re out and about.”

All City services will return to normal subject to physical distancing requirements.

We encourage all community members to contact us via our website, email or telephone in the first instance – and request in-person meetings in advance.
